ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Cardinals now know who, when and where they will be playing in the Nationals League Championship Series.
After bludgeoning the Braves with a 10-run first inning, and finishing off the game with a 13-1 win, the Cardinals earned their spot in the NLCS. But before they could hop on a plane, they had to figure out where they would be headed.
Just before midnight, the Washington Nationals put the finishing touches on an upset victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers with a 7-3, extra-inning victory in Game 5.
Since the Nationals knocked off the Dodgers, the Cardinals are homeward bound. As the NL Central Champions, they will hold home-field advantage against the NL Wild Card Nationals.
