ST. LOUIS – Sunday is St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina's 32nd birthday, and we sure hope he's enjoying himself after the week he had.
Yadi should be headed to Minneapolis to get ready for Tuesday's All-Star Game, but instead he's staying home after an injury Wednesday night caused a ligament to tear in his right thumb, sidelining him for eight to 12 weeks.
Jonathan Lucroy of the Milwaukee Brewers is replacing Yadi, which is a dream come true for Brewers fans. Last month the Brewers released a scandalous attack ad, pitting him against Yadi in an attempt to get more votes for their player.
Happy birthday, Yadier! We hope your day was filled with plenty of cake, ice cream, and puppies.
