Braves-Cardinals game postponed due to weather, doubleheader planned for Saturday

The game is rescheduled to Saturday at 1 p.m. Eastern Time.

ATLANTA — Friday's Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals game has been postponed due to weather.

The Braves announced on X that the game was rescheduled for July 20 at 1 p.m. Eastern time as part of a split doubleheader at Truist Park, with gates opening at 11:30 a.m. ET.

The second game was still scheduled to begin at 7:20 p.m. ET. A separate ticket is required for both games.

"We had been hopeful that we would find conditions suitable to play; however, after further consultation with the weather service, radar indicates unsuitable conditions for starting the game," the team said.

Friday's game was scheduled to be the first of a three-game series between the two teams.

The Cardinals are returning from the All-Star Break after finishing the first half of the season four games over .500. They are 4.5 games back from National League Central leading Milwaukee Brewers.

Atlanta has recorded a 53-42 record in the first half and sit 8.5 games back from the National League East leading Philadelphia Phillies.
