Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier has returned to Pittsburgh after remaining hospitalized in Cincinnati with a spinal injury he suffered Monday night against the Bengals.
Shazier will continue to be monitored at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, the Steelers announced.
The team provided no other updates on his condition.
After tackling wide receiver Josh Malone in the first quarter, Shazier crumpled to the turf. He was later taken to a nearby hospital in an ambulance.
On Tuesday, Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said Shazier is not expected to need surgery.
