ST. LOUIS — St. Louis was packed and glued to the big screen Sunday night as Super Bowl LVIII kicked off in Las Vegas.
Now, it's all over. The Kansas City Chiefs won the nail-biter in overtime 25 - 22 against the San Francisco 49ers.
You may have watched football's biggest night of the year at a friend's place, at home or only for the commercials. 5 On Your Side went to watch parties across the St. Louis areas to catch-up with fans on both sides of the field.
It felt like Christmas Day for Chiefs fans on Weber's Front Row Pub & Grill in Webster Groves. Fans were excited about none other than legendary quarterback Patrick Mahomes. At just 28, he's the youngest quarter back to go to four Super Bowls.
"We were happy to get there one time," Kendel Beard, known as "Papa Chief" and effectively co-president of the STL Chiefs, said. "Now with this, it's our fourth Super Bowl in the last five years, he's won two MVPs, the Chiefs are at the pinnacle of the NFL."
"He is the elite of the elite quarterbacks." Beard said.
Travis Kelce's high-profile girlfriend Taylor Swift was an inevitable topic of conversation at local watch parties.
"I've got two young nieces who are huge Taylor Swift fans, and they are now Kansas City Chiefs fans," Chiefs fan Erin Endres said at Weber's. "It's great bringing in young girls to watch with their aunts like me or their moms or whoever."
"We're getting more young girls involved in the sport," Endres said.
Swift even giving one Brentwood Chiefs fan her scarf at the NFL Wildcard Playoff Game in Kansas City back in January.
Beth Vancil was now locked into watching the Super Bowl from Ball Park Village on Feb. 11.
"Honestly, Taylor and I were hanging out the whole game and high-fiving," Vancil said. "All that stuff. Then at the end, she's like 'You're our good luck charm. You need this scarf it's freezing.'"
In a sea of Chiefs red, it was hard to find a San Francisco 49ers fan, but 5 On Your Side found two.
"It's a bit hostile," 49ers fan Michael Rice said at Ball Park Village. "I'm by the bathroom so people are coming by and walking saying all kinds of crazy stuff, but I'm having a great time."
"It's crazy," 49ers fan Matt Brannan said. "There is very few of us out here so it's very crazy. We're definitely in enemy territory."
It would be the Chiefs who had the last laugh as they get ready to make it a three-peat next year.
