ST. LOUIS — A special moment between Jake Neighbours and his dad was caught on TV Thursday night in the St. Louis Blues 6-4 win over the Buffalo Sabres.

During the first period, Andy Strickland interviewed Ed Neighbours on Bally Sports Midwest. It was interrupted when Jake scored to put St. Louis up 3-0 over Buffalo.

"He's playing so well right now, and it's good to see him get rewarded for his hard work," Ed said during his interview.

Jake scored his eighth goal of the season with just over nine minutes left in the period, assisted by Nick Leddy and Pavel Buchnevich.

"Uh, I think he just scored!" Ed said after the goal horn went off.

Ed then got to analyze the goal after watching it on the scoreboard with Strickland:

Jake Neighbours would score his second of the game in the third period, extending the Blues lead to 6-3. St. Louis would go on to win 6-4.

"Obviously crazy timing, pretty cool," Jake said after the game. "I don't think he really realized it was me right away but it's a pretty cool moment."

And what did he think of his dad's commentary?

"I would say it was poor actually. Not the best, he could have broken it down a little better but it's funny," he said.

Ed joined Jake and the Blues on the Dads' Trip, traveling to Chicago and Minneapolis for two games. He would see Jake tally two goals as well in the Blues game against the Blackhawks on Sunday.

Neighbours has been heating up as of late for the Blues, scoring seven goals in the past 10 games. He has 10 points overall, nine of them goals which leads the team.

The Blues will head to Arizona to face the Coyotes on Saturday, Dec. 2. St. Louis defeated Arizona twice this season with a 2-1 win on Nov. 9 and a 6-5 win on Nov. 22.
