Frank's all-time St. Louis teams: Blues

With hall-of-famers abound, it's hard to pick an all-time starting six in Blues history, but our Frank Cusumano did it. Do you agree?

Defenseman: Al MacInnis Chris Pronger

Forwards: Bernie Federko Brendan Shanahan Brett Hull

Goalie :Grant Fuhr

Coach: Scotty Bowman

Here's how Frank sees it:

There can’t be much of an argument about the defensemen. They are Hall of Famers. Pronger should have a statue also outside the building.

The forwards are Hall of Famers also. Brett is the best player in history. Shanny wasn’t here very long but his 4 seasons were sensational. The man ended up with 656 goals.

The debate was in goal. I love Curtis Joseph. Mike Liut had the longest run. Glenn Hall and Jacques Plante were legends. However, I can’t get away from Grant Fuhr. The 6 All-Star games were really good but the 5 Stanley Cups are insane. He played 79 games in the 1995-96 season including 76 in a row! If he doesn’t get run over by Nick Kypreos, maybe the Blues would have won a Stanley Cup. All I know is Wayne Gretzky swore by him. Nobody was better when the game was on the line.

Bowman is the best coach in professional sports history. He took the Blues to three consecutive Stanley Cups. He didn’t win one here, but did nine times at other places.
