ST. LOUIS — St. Louis Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington has challenged Justin Bieber to a shootout competition, again.
It all started back in 2020 when Binnington commented on a post from Bieber that said he would dye his hair platinum blonde if he were able to score on him. Bieber proposed that Binnington would have to donate $10,000 to a charity of Bieber's choice if the pop star could score on the Stanley Cup champ when given 10 breakaway attempts.
The Blues confirmed the showdown was going to eventually happen and Bieber was scheduled to perform in St. Louis that summer, but nothing materialized and the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
On Wednesday, Binnington posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the bet still stands.
Binnington reposted the bet as part of the National Hockey League All-Star Fan Vote. Fans have a chance to vote in players for the 2024 NHL All-Star Game in Toronto.
"It's on," Binnington said. "I know he's been skating and training for the event, so we'll see what comes of it."
The goaltender has a chance to join his teammate Robert Thomas, who was selected on Jan. 4, at the game.
He has 13 wins this season and has posted a 3.05 goals-against average.
