ST. LOUIS — Robert Thomas will represent the St. Louis Blues in the 2024 National Hockey League All-Star Game in Toronto, the league announced Thursday.
Thomas was among 32 players to be selected on Thursday to represent their team in the All-Star Game. Fans will have a chance to vote for the remaining 12 players as part of the 2024 NHL All-Star Fan Vote.
The 2024 NHL All-Star Weekend will take place from Feb. 1 through Feb. 3 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. The weekend will include the skills competition, player draft, fan fair and All-Star Game.
Thomas leads the Blues in goals (15), assists (24) and points (39) in 36 games this season.
He was selected No. 20 overall by the Blues in the 2017 NHL Draft. He played 70 games in his rookie year during the 2018-2019 season and won the Stanley Cup, scoring six points in 21 playoff games.
The 24-year-old signed an eight-year, $65 million contract extension in 2022 that began in the 2023-24 season.
All-Star Weekend will have a new look, including the return of the player draft. Celebrities will be paired with four captains, who will then pick their team of 11 players for the game.
The skills competition on Feb. 2 will also have a new look with 12 NHL All-Stars competing for points in eight events. Each player will compete in four of the first six events including: Fastenal NHL Fastest Skater; Rogers NHL Hardest Shot; Upper Deck NHL Stick Handling; NHL One Timers; NHL Passing Challenge; and Cheetos NHL Accuracy Shooting.
The top eight point-earners will advance to a seventh event, the Honda NHL Shootout. The top six will advance to the eighth and final event, the Pepsi NHL Obstacle Course, where point totals are doubled.
