St. Louis Blues home opener: What you need to know

The St. Louis Blues home opener is on Oct. 14. Here's what you need to know.

ST. LOUIS — The home opener for the St. Louis Blues is right around the corner.

The Blues will begin the season on the road for the season opener on Thursday, Oct. 12, against the Dallas Stars. But on Saturday, fans will head downtown to watch the Blues play at Enterprise Center for the home opener of the 2023-24 season. 

We have everything you need to know ahead of game day!

When is the home opener? 

The Blues will host the Seattle Kraken at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14 at Enterprise Center.

Is there a pregame rally? 

Yes! 

A rally will be held from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Union Station for fans with or without tickets.

According to the Blues, fans can try their hand at the bungee run, take a shot past an inflatable goaltender and meet Louie and the Blue Crew. 

Live music, shops and a giveaway will be held throughout the rally.

What is the bag policy at Enterprise Center? 

If you want to bring a bag, it can't be larger than 16 inches by 16 inches, according to Enterprise Center. That includes luggage, backpacks, coolers, hard-sided bags and all other bags. If you want to bring in a bag smaller than that, it will be subject to x-ray screening.

Clutches no larger than 4" x 6" x 1.5" will just be visually inspected and do not need to be x-rayed.

The Enterprise Center said bringing a bag can add up to 30 minutes to your entry process.

Who is on the St. Louis Blues roster?

The 23-man roster was finalized on Monday and was announced on Tuesday. Brayden Schenn will begin the season as the 24th captain in franchise history with assistant captains Robert Thomas, Colton Parayko and Justin Faulk.

Forwards: Nikita Alexandrov, Sammy Blais, Pavel Buchnevich, Kevin Hayes, Kasperi Kapanen, Jordan Kyrou, Jake Neighbours, Brandon Saad, Brayden Schenn, Robert Thomas, Oskar Sundqvist, Alexey Toropchenko and Jakub Vrana.

Defensemen: Robert Bortuzzo, Justin Faulk, Torey Krug, Nick Leddy, Colton Parayko, Scott Perunovich, Marco Scandella and Tyler Tucker. 

Goalies: Jordan Binnington and Joel Hofer.

What channel will the game be on? 

Bally Sports Midwest will once again carry most of the Blues games throughout the 2023-24 season. Sixty-nine regular season games will be broadcast on Bally Sports, including the home opener on Saturday. 

Jamie Rivers will debut as the team's new lead analyst for Bally Sports on Thursday's season opener in Dallas. Rivers is filling the hole left by Darren Pang, who left to take a similar position with the Chicago Blackhawks earlier this year.

Rivers, a former defenseman for the Blues, has worked on Blues broadcasts for nearly a decade. He was an analyst on pregame and postgame shows and has also worked on the Mid-States high school championship games.
