St. Louis Blues prospect re-assigned to Ontario Hockey League

"We look forward to watching his continued growth as a player," Doug Armstrong said.

ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Blues 10th overall pick at the 2023 National Hockey League Draft has been re-assigned.

Dalibor Dvorsky, 18, was playing with the Swedish Hockey League's IK Oskarshamn before being re-assigned to the Ontario Hockey League's Sudbury Wolves on Wednesday.

“After evaluating Dalibor’s situation in Sweden and talking with him and his representatives, we jointly decided that the opportunity to play regular minutes at Sudbury against his peer group in the OHL would be the best thing for his development at this time," President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong said. "We look forward to watching his continued growth as a player.”

The Sudbury Wolves did not say when Dvorsky would make his debut with the team. The Wolves played the Mississauga Steelheads on Thursday night and will face the Flint Firebirds on Friday.

Dvorsky was selected 10th overall by the Blues over the summer and signed a three-year entry-level contract on July 13.

The 18-year-old played in 10 games with IK Oskarshamn this season.

Last season, he appeared in 38 regular-season games for AIK of HockeyAllsvenskan in Sweden, recording 14 points (six goals, eight assists).

He represented Slovakia at the U-18 and U-20 World Junior Championships, appearing in seven tournament games and recording 13 points.

In 2021-22, he helped Slovakia win the Silver Medal at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup and the Gold Medal in D1A of the U-18 World Junior Championships.
