St. Louis Blues sign Pavel Buchnevich to 6-year contract extension

The 29-year-old recorded 27 goals and 36 assists in 80 regular-season games this past season.

ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Blues have signed forward Pavel Buchnevich to a new contract, the team announced on Tuesday.

President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced that Buchnevich signed a six-year, $46 million contract. The extension will begin with the 2025-2026 season. 

Buchnevich was drafted by the New York Rangers No. 75 overall in the 2013 National Hockey League Draft.He was acquired by the Blues in a trade from the Rangers in July 2021. 

The 29-year-old recorded 27 goals and 36 assists in 80 regular-season games this past season.

Overall, he has played 517 regular-season games and has titled 401 points (162 goals and 239 assists).

The Blues also announced two trades on Tuesday. The team acquired Radek Faksa from the Dallas Stars and Mathieu Joseph and a 2025 third-round pick from the Ottawa Senators. Each team received future considerations. 

Faksa, 30, played in 74 regular-season games last season where he recorded 19 points (seven goals and 12 assists) with the Stars.

Joseph, 27, played in 72 regular-season games last season and totaled 35 points (11 goals and 24 assists) with the Senators.
