RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL- AUGUST 18: Risako Kawai of Japan celebrates with her coach Kazuhito Sakae after defeating Maryia Mamashuk of Belarus during the Women's Freestyle 63 kg Gold medal match on Day 13 of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

But then, she picked him up again and gave him a ride around the mat on her shoulders.

Japan's Risako Kawai celebrates with her coach after winning against Belarus' Maryia Mamashuk in their women's 63kg freestyle final match on August 18, 2016, during the wrestling event of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games at the Carioca Arena 2.

There’s some history to her picking the coach up. Sakae, who wrestled for Japan in the 80s and won a bronze at the 1987 world championships, has coached many of the women who make up Japan’s dominant wrestling program. In the past, he has put them on her shoulders, like he did with Kaori Icho when she won her first gold in 2004.

Even after throwing him around, Kawai did one of the sweetest celebrations of the Olympics.
