Michael Phelps has been laying low following his gold-laden Olympic games in Rio, but he made a reappearance at MTV’s video music awards on Sunday night.
Introducing Future and the annual awards show, Phelps revealed it was one of his songs — “stick talk” — that was the inspiration for the Phelps Face.
“Remember in Rio when I made that face that ended up all over the internet? I was in the zone with Future’s track ‘Stick Talk’ blaring in my headphones.”
