'So many high-fives': St. Louis native Jon Hamm celebrates Blues' Game 7 win

“It’s everything about being a Blues fan,” he said. “It’s heartbreak and excitement and terrifying stuff.”

ST. LOUIS – After the Blues won Game 7 in overtime against the Dallas Stars, fans of every walk of life celebrated the win.

But 5 On Your Side caught up with one St. Louis native after the game, actor Jon Hamm.

Hamm has been a life-long fan of the Blues and the Cardinals.

“This is why I’ve loved St. Louis Blues hockey since I was a little kid." he said. "It is phenomenally exciting."

Hamm was at the Enterprise Center Tuesday night and shared the amazing experience.

“It’s everything about being a Blues fan,” he said. “It’s heartbreak and excitement and terrifying stuff.”

When Pat Maroon made the game-winning goal, it was nothing but high-fives all around.

“So many high-fives,” he said. “When you’re remotely recognizable, everyone wants to high-five you.”

He said in sports, you never know what can happen at any time.

“We dominated those guys for three periods and we still could’ve lost,” he said. “And that sucks… but it didn’t.”

After Tuesday night’s win, Hamm said he’s ready for the Blues to keep it up.

“We got through one more round, let’s go win four more," he said.
