St. Louis Ambush travel to Milwaukee for New Year's Eve match

The Wave takes the field as the only undefeated team in the Major Arena Soccer League.

ST CHARLES, Mo. — The St. Louis Ambush (3-3) close out 2018 with a New Year’s Eve matinee contest against the Milwaukee Wave (3-0) at 3:05 p.m. CT at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. Monday’s game is the first of five between the Ambush and Wave slated for the 2018-19 regular season. Three of those five matches will be played in Milwaukee.

The Ambush are coming off a three-game series against the Kansas City Comets that saw the Ambush take two of the three games. The Wave takes the field as the only undefeated team in the Major Arena Soccer League.

Leading the offense for the Ambush are rookies Zach Reget and Justin Stinson with seven points each, followed by Jerjer Gibson and Lucas Almeida with six each. The Wave are led by perennial scoring threat Ian Bennett (10 points) and Max Ferdinand (seven points).

In goal, the Ambush starter is Paulo, who ranks fifth in the league in save percentage (.721). Minding the net for the Wave is Josh Lemos, who ranks tenth in the league in goals-against average (5.33) and is undefeated in three games played.

Following the New Year’s Eve contest, the Ambush return home to the Family Arena when they host the Florida Tropics for the first time this season next Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 7:05 p.m. CT.
