ST. LOUIS — St. Louis CITY SC's Célio Pompeu will be out for the remainder of the 2024 Major League Soccer season.
Pompeu underwent surgery on Sunday to repair an ankle dislocation and fibula fracture after an injury in Saturday's match versus Dallas FC.
He faces will be out for at least nine months, St. Louis said.
The 24-year-old had three goals and three assists and had started 15 matches this season for CITY SC.
St. Louis returns to CITYPARK on Wednesday after a 2-0 loss to Dallas. They will host the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday and Atlanta United FC on Saturday.
CITY SC currently sits in 11th place in the Western Conference with a 3-4-9 record (18 points).
