ST. LOUIS — St. Louis CITY SC unveiled its new away kit that is inspired by the intersection of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers.
The "Confluence Kit" by Adidas features a wave-like pattern that is unique to each kit and is meant to resemble both the flow of a river and the mark of a fingerprint, a press release said. The kit's design also represents the unity and energy that flows throughout St. Louis.
“The confluence of the two great rivers is so important to St. Louis’ history and how the region has been shaped by the many cultures of the people who have lived here,” said St. Louis CITY SC’s President & GM Diego Gigliani. “Just as St. Louis was established near the meeting of the rivers, CityPark was built to be a meeting place for our community every matchday. We can’t wait to see our players and our fans in these kits, supporting our club and celebrating the vibrancy of our CITY.”
The kit features the CITY SC crest, the City of St. Louis flag, brand marks of the team's founding partners and other details. It is also made from 100% recycled material, the release said.
The Confluence Kit is available for purchase at the team's store at CITY Pavilion and will be at the season kickoff event at The Armory on Feb. 17.
St. Louis will kick off its season on Tuesday, Feb. 20, during Round One of the Concacaf Champions Cup with CITY SC versus the Houston Dynamo. CITY SC then will play Real Salt Lake on Saturday, Feb. 24, for the first match of the MLS regular season.
