ST. LOUIS — St. Louis CITY2 signed Lucas Demitra, son of former Blues player Pavol Demitra, on Wednesday.

Lucas Demitra, 21, signed a MLS NEXT Pro contract with CITY SC's reserve team on Wednesday that goes through the end of the 2025 season.

Demitra was born in St. Louis and is the son of the late Pavol Demitra.

The 21-year-old began his career in 2010 at AS Trencin and progressed to their first team in 2020. Last year, he was on loan at FC ViOn, making eight appearances. Overall, he has played in 45 matches, scoring four goals and two assists.

He has also made appearances for Slovakia's Youth National Teams at various levels.

Pavol played eight seasons with the Blues and had nearly 500 points with the team. He ranks No. 7 overall in scoring in Blues franchise history and is part of the team's Hall of Fame.

On Sept. 7, 2011, a passenger aircraft carrying Pavol Demitra and his teammates crashed near Yaroslavl, Russia. He was survived by his wife, two children and his unborn son.
