KANSAS CITY, Kan. - U.S. soccer authorities joined the governor of Kansas Wednesday in announcing the development of a national soccer training center in Kansas City, Kansas.

The U.S. Soccer National Training Center will provide coaching and referee educational sessions, on top of being an elite athlete training and performance analytics campus. The complex, which is projected to cost $75 million to build, is expected to provide a billion-dollar economic boost to Kansas and Wyandotte County over the next 30 years, Kansas Governor Sam Brownback said.

A timetable for construction and opening the training facility was not provided.
