ST. LOUIS — First the XFL announced St. Louis would be getting a team, then we got the name and colors and now finally we know who will be taking the snaps at quarterback for the BattleHawks.
As part of the inaugural XFL draft, starting quarterbacks were named for each team on Tuesday.
Former University of Mississippi quarterback Jordan Ta'amu will be the first quarterback of the St. Louis BattleHawks.
A native of Hawaii, Ta'amu threw for 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions in his senior season at Ole Miss in 2018, and also led the entire SEC in passing with 3,918 yards.
Ta'amu originally signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent, before being released earlier this year.
Ta'amu wasted no time seeing the sights in St. Louis, sharing on Twitter some classic gateway city cenues he visited.
The XFL completed a good portion of its draft on Tuesday, with more selections to come.
