He’s known as the Duke of York. But he might be most famous for being Sarah Ferguson’s ex-husband, although there are now rumors the couple may be getting back together. In fact, the two recently traveled together on an international trip. Their daughter Eugenie once called them “the best-divorced couple I know.”

Prince courts controversy

But the third child, and second son, of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip is also known for being the controversial royal. The questionable relationships go back a decade or more.

In 2011, Prince Andrew’s friendship with American hedge fund tycoon and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein led to him stepping down as a British trade representative.

There were sex abuse allegations that surfaced in 2015, allegations made by an American woman that were later thrown out of court.

And there were even questions about his possible role in 2011 in the sale of arms to foreign countries.

Prince and war pilot

Prince Andrew holds the rank of commander and the honorary rank of vice admiral in the Royal Navy, where he served as an active-duty helicopter pilot and instructor and as the captain of a warship. He saw active service during the Falklands War, flying on multiple missions.

Prince Andrew was married to Sarah Ferguson from 1986 to 1996. They have two children: Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

Andrew is known as a good golfer, with a single-digit handicap. He is eighth in line to the British Throne.
