MISSOURI, USA — Every year, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources holds a contest to find the very best photos of the state's beautiful and varied environment. This year's winners were crowned Friday.
The aptly named 2024 MoDNR Photo Contest invited amateur photographers of any age throughout the state to explore and capture Missouri's natural resources.
"This year, nearly 450 entries were submitted, highlighting Missouri's unique state parks, breathtaking scenery, weather phenomena, wildlife and the joy of outdoor recreation," MoDNR said. "These photographs not only showcase Missouri’s landscapes, but also encourage everyone to visit, appreciate and protect our natural resources."
The winning photographs were published on the department's website and will be on display at the Womans Building at the 2025 Missouri State Fair in Sedalia.
See each of the winning photos in the galleries below, each sectioned off into the contest's three categories of "Natural Resources," "People Enjoying Missouri's Outdoors," and "Unique Places."
