Route 3 in Cahokia was closed for several hours following a fatal accident Saturday morning.
Trooper Dye with the Illinois State Police says a pickup truck ran into a semi tanker truck, and ended up underneath the tanker, which then caught fire.
It happened near the intersection of Route 3 and Judith Lane around 6:10 a.m.
An investigation is underway.
