ST. LOUIS — After a frequently delayed Wednesday morning, we have some bridge construction that you’ll want to be aware of. These bridges are about 30 miles apart along the Mississippi River, yet they’re still in our commute area!
We’re talking about the Clark Bridge in Alton and the Jefferson Barracks Bridge in south St. Louis County at Interstate 255 going into Illinois. The JB Bridge and concrete repair work was bumped up from the previous schedule of this weekend.
This work will be done when the concrete is sufficiently hardened to hold the weight.
The bridge construction going into Alton is also brand-new road work that began at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. The plan is for this work to be finished this week. While this work is being done, drivers should expect delays.
