CHESTERFIELD, Mo. — Conway Road in west St. Louis County is important. It runs right by three big hospitals, St. Luke's, Mercy and Missouri Baptist, and it's also right at the entry point for at least two high schools and two universities.
But drivers in Chesterfield who use it have been feeling the pain from road utility work -- from Conway Meadows Road east to near Route 141. But, there's so much more about Conway.
Missouri Department of Transportation crews closed it two weekends ago at Interstate 270 to remove a portion of the bridge over Conway. That's a big improvement not related to the big metal plate issues to the west at Conway and 141.
The current construction on Conway is around Lindbergh. This week's construction announcement from MoDOT has one northbound/southbound lane from Conway to Clayton Road closed, one lane closed northbound or southbound at Plaza Frontenac, one northbound/southbound lane closed from Conway and Baur Boulevard, and finally, one southbound lane closed from Page Avenue to Conway.
The best policy for obstructions like these is to slow down and be careful.
