ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- Some major lane restrictions and road closures are coming to St. Charles along the riverfront in the coming weeks.
All lanes of EB I-70 will close between Route 94 and Fifth Street beginning at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, May 20 and will fully close by 11 p.m. The lanes are expecting to reopen on Monday, May 23 at 5 a.m. The closure will allow crews to begin demolishing the Fairgrounds Road bridge.
WB I-70 will only have one lane getting through between Fifth Street and Route 94 beginning at 9 p.m., May 20. Lanes will open back up the following Monday at 5 a.m. WB I-70 will completely close intermittently in 15 minute spans throughout the weekend. The far left lane in both directions will remain closed for the next two months.
WB I-70 will be reduced to one lane during the overnight hours on Thursday, May 19. The entrance ramp from Fifth Street to WB I-70 will also close Thursday, May 19 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Fairgrounds Road will close over I-70 starting at 7 a.m. Friday, May 20. The Fifth Street ramp to WB I-70 will close beginning May 20 and remain closed for two months.
