ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. — A crash involving two tractor-trailers closed all westbound lanes of Interstate 70 at Highway 61 in St. Charles County Tuesday morning.
The impact was reported shortly before 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to a MoDOT traffic map alert.
Corporal Dallas Thompson, a spokesperson for the Missouri State Highway Patrol, said one tractor-trailer rear-ended another that was on the shoulder of the highway. George Dickey, a 79-year-old St. Charles man, was killed in the crash.
The interstate was closed for several hours while officials investigated. It has since reopened.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. No additional information was released.
