ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. — A fatal crash Friday morning closed all westbound lanes of Interstate 70 for several hours in St. Charles County.

According to MoDOT's traveler information map, the crash impact was reported at about 6:40 a.m. Friday.

A tweet from the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) said the driver of a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 rear-ended a 2008 Jeep Wrangler on westbound I-70 past Bryan Road at the 215-mile marker. The impact caused the truck to hit a guardrail on the right side of the highway, ejecting the driver, 34-year-old Anisha Kyles.

According to MSHP, the truck slid back into the highway, striking the left median wall. The vehicle veered back into all lanes of traffic where it came to a rest in the right lane.

Kyles, of Centreville, Illinois, was killed in the crash. Accident reconstruction is handling the investigation.

The interstate was closed for about four hours Friday morning while the crash was investigated. It has since reopened.

No additional information about the crash was available.
