COLLINSVILLE, Ill. — Drivers in the Metro East should expect lane closures on parts of roadways for the next several months, IDOT said.
In a press release, IDOT announced lane restrictions along northbound and southbound Interstate 255, from Illinois Route 157 to Route 15 in St. Clair County beginning Monday; these restrictions will run until about Monday, July 2.
The roadwork is required to complete what IDOT called "emergency pavement patching" on I-255. In return, IDOT asks motorists to remain patient while on the roads, to reduce speed, obey warning signs and use caution while in the work zones.
