ILLINOIS, USA — A construction project scheduled in the Metro East this weekend has been delayed.
The Illinois Transportation Department was set to close westbound Interstate 55/64 from the I-55/64/70 interchange to the Poplar Street Bridge in East St. Louis, weather permitting. With rain and severe weather possible for parts of the weekend, IDOT has opted to delay the project.
A makeup date for the project has not been announced.
The resurfacing project is part of a $5.2 million project that will include more weekend closures in the next few weeks. The project is expected to be completed by the end of May.
