ST. LOUIS — Early-morning and late-night drivers should expect regular lane closures on Interstates 270 and 64 starting Monday, Feb. 27.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, up to two lanes of north- and southbound I-270 between Manchester and Ladue roads will be closed nightly for pavement repairs. The closures will last from 8 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
Bridge painting will also close lanes from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. at the I-64 interchange for bridge painting.
MoDOT said the overnight closures on I-270 and at the I-64 interchange will continue for the next few months.
To safely navigate work zones, MoDOT recommends drivers use the three "S's":
- Speed - Slow down, follow posted speed limit signs and don't resume normal speed until roadway signs indicate its safe to do so.
- Space - Leave room for breaking, take turns merging, don't pass on the shoulder and watch out for tailgaters.
- Stress - Keep your cool, expect delays and pay attention to construction and the cars around you.
