ST. LOUIS — How should the Missouri Department of Transportation improve the Interstate 64 corridor between Kingshighway and Jefferson Avenue? The department will host an open-house-style public meeting on Jan. 18 to gain community insight on its improvement proposals.

During the meeting, engineers and planners will discuss three corridor improvement options, and MoDOT will show a video answering questions about the ongoing planning and environmental leakages study called "Future64: Community. Transportation. Together."

Future64 examines the potential impact of improvement projects on the environment, community and connectivity to ensure that they would benefit the people using it.

The project is looking to improve the experience of drivers, pedestrians, bicycle riders and transit riders.

MoDOT, in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration, will host the meeting from 4 to 7 p.m. on Jan. 18 at the COLLAB Workspace in Cortex, located at 4220 Duncan Ave.

Those who are unable to attend in person can find more information about the proposals online at Future64.com on the day of the meeting.
