ST. LOUIS — Do you want to weigh in on possible changes to a frequently used section of St. Louis interstate? Now is your chance.

The Missouri Department of Transportation is sharing ideas for improvements on Interstate 64 from Jefferson Avenue to Kingshighway Boulevard.

The ideas will be shared at a meeting from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 18 Rails at City Foundry on November 19. People can arrive and leave as desired. If you can't attend in person, the information will be online here on November 19: modot.org/future64

Engineers and planners will share the concepts for improvements for that section of I-64. MoDOT will share more information about the bridge work planned for I-64 over Vandeventer Avenue, which is set to begin in 2027.

People can discuss the plans with MoDOT. The feedback helps "determine which portions of the concept should be funded first and how soon they should be built."

The first goal of the project is increasing safety for vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians. They want to make the navigation more intuitive for cars and pedestrians. Another goal is to improve the maintenance of the highway and bridges for years to come.

MoDOT completed an 18-month study on the project and identified three options to improve the interstate while minimizing harmful impacts to the community and environment. The planners and engineers narrowed down the options and seek to share those ideas.
