$7.1M in safety improvements coming to Page Avenue

A 1.4 mile stretch of Page Avenue in north St. Louis County has three times the state average amount of crashes.

ST. LOUIS — The potholes on Page Avenue aren’t the only problem.

Missouri Department of Transportation crews are focusing on Page Avenue from Pennsylvania Avenue in north St. Louis County to the St. Louis city limits.

On this 1.4-mile stretch of north St. Louis County, there have been more than 380 crashes over the three-year period of 2018-22, with about 16 resulting in serious injuries. This stretch has three times the state average of crashes.

Page needs work.

This past December, people were given the opportunity to voice their concerns about Page.

The third public meeting about this stretch of Page or Route D will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Carter Commons Food Hall, 6746 Page Ave. The public meeting on the $7.1 million project will disclose how MoDOT will upgrade the sidewalks, traffic signals, the drainage system and, most of all, repave in 2025. All of this is based on your feedback, the traffic data and a road safety audit.

Also, Trailnet will distribute bike safety helmets for children at Wednesday’s meeting.

This is only concerning that stretch of Page from Pennsylvania Avenue to Skinker Boulevard.
