ST. LOUIS — A person was fatally struck by a vehicle Friday morning at the intersection of Telegraph and Sappington Barracks roads in south St. Louis County.
St. Louis County police responded to the traffic incident involving a pedestrian at about 6:30 a.m. Friday. Upon arrival, they found an adult male laying on the ground unconscious and unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead.
St. Louis County police identified the victim Saturday as Adam Levi, 24, of Cape Girardeau.
Upon investigation, police said Levi was walking northbound on Telegraph Road before he stepped out from behind a pole and in front of an oncoming vehicle in the intersection.
Police said the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and waiting for officers to arrive.
The investigation remained ongoing as of Friday afternoon. Anyone with information regarding the incident was asked to contact the St. Louis County Police Department at 636-529-8210.
