Significant lane, ramp closures start this weekend in St. Louis County

MoDOT is beginning a series of lane and ramp closures Friday night. Here are the detours you need to know.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Allow extra time to get where you're going in St. Louis County starting this weekend. The Missouri Department of Transportation is beginning a series of lane and ramp closures Friday night as part of ongoing maintenance.

I-44 West to I-270 South

Weather permitting, the ramp from westbound Interstate 44 to southbound I-270 (Exit 276) will close at 8 p.m. on Friday and reopen at 5 a.m. on Monday. MoDOT crews will be continuing bridge preventative maintenance.

To avoid the closure, drivers should take the ramp on I-44 West to North Highway Drive (Exit 275). Cross the interstate at Mraz and follow South Highway drive to I-44 East. Then, take Exit 276 to southbound I-270.

I-64 East to Ballas Road

The ramp from eastbound Interstate 64 to Ballas Road (Exit 26) will be closed starting at midnight on Sunday, according to MoDOT. The closure is expected to last until October, weather permitting, as crews work to rehabilitate the ramp bridge.

To avoid the closure, drivers should instead use Spoede Road (Exit 27) to cross over onto the westbound side of the interstate and then exit at Ballas.

I-270 North and South to Ballas Road

The ramp from north and southbound Interstate 270 to Ballas Road will remain open. However, it will be narrowed down to one lane until September, according to MoDOT.
