Parking for Cardinals games

Whether you're driving or hitching a ride, here's everything you need to know about getting to Busch Stadium this year.

ST. LOUIS — Opening day for the St. Louis Cardinals also marks the first day of an exciting year at Busch Stadium.

Whether you’re trekking to Busch for a Cards game or a summer concert, here’s everything you need to know about parking and public transportation near the ballpark.

Parking

Parking safety:

St. Louis has seen a surge in car thefts and break-ins over the last year. It's important to be aware of your surroundings to protect yourself and your vehicle.

Here are some tips for safe parking to keep in mind when downtown:

  • Park in well-lit spaces when possible.
  • Be aware of your surroundings when you park.
  • Don’t leave anything in your car in plain sight, especially valuables.
  • Lock your car and roll up your windows all the way. If you’re driving a Kia or Hyundai, steering wheel clubs are also recommended.
  • Busch Stadium does not allow weapons of any kind inside. Leave your firearms at home, not in your car.

Meter parking:

If you manage to find a spot on the street to park amid the chaotic traffic, here’s everything you need to know about metered parking in St. Louis.

Parking meters are monitored from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, according to St. Louis City parking policies. However, some multi-space meters are operational 24/7 in various lots throughout the city.

Parking at meters is free on Sundays and on city holidays.

Be vigilant of posted signs and yellow curbs to avoid tickets, hefty fines or the possibility of being towed. The fines for frequently committed parking violations include:

  • Parking meter and street cleaning sign violations - $20.
  • Minor parking violations (no parking, bus, taxi or commercial vehicle zones and yellow curb violations) - $30.
  • Public safety violations (double parking, parking in a tow-away zone, impairing traffic flow, blocking an intersection or alley and fire hydrants or fire lanes) - $45.
  • Disabled parking ordinance violations - $100.
  • Commercial vehicle parking violations - $100.

Metro Transit:

Looking to avoid traffic and parking costs? Metro Transit is a great option.

If you’re taking the MetroLink, park for free at any of the Park-Ride lots, purchase a $5 day pass for unlimited trips and get off at Stadium Station.

MetroBus is another option. More than a dozen bus routes service the Civic Center Station, which is just a short walk away from Busch Stadium.

Ride-sharing:

Ride-sharing with Uber and Lyft or simply taking a taxi are also options for those wanting to avoid a long walk to the stadium.

Ride-share pickup spots are located on the east side of the stadium on Broadway, just south of Spruce Street, and on the west side of the stadium, on Spruce Street between 8th Street and 9th Street.
