ST. LOUIS — MetroBus service has resumed in Missouri and Illinois after several routes were temporarily suspended Monday morning due to road conditions, a BiState Development spokesperson said in an email.
Early Monday morning, a MetroBus crashed into multiple parked cars on Cherokee Street due to the icy road conditions.
Metro Transit announced at 4:15 p.m. that bus service has resumed in Missouri and Illinois. All Metro Bus routes are operating with their normal route except #30, #47, #70, #90 and #97 which are operating on snow routes.
"Metro Transit will continue to monitor road and weather conditions throughout the day, and will not resume MetroBus operations in Missouri until conditions improve," Vallely said in a statement. "This suspension of Missouri MetroBus routes is being put into place for the safety of our customers and team members in light of the dangerous weather conditions."
MetroLink Blue Line trains will only operate between the Shrewsbury-Lansdowne I-44 and Forest Park-DeBaliviere stations for the rest of the day, according to Metro Transit. Riders will need to transfer trains at the Forest Park-DeBaliviere station to continue their trips.
MetroBus and MetroLink were advised to allow extra time for travel Monday evening due to delays.
Metro Call-A-Ride passengers will be contacted if their trips will be delayed, according to Metro Transit.
According to the MoDOT traveler map, all state roads in the St. Louis area are listed as covered or partly covered by ice.
