BELLEVILLE, Ill. — Budget airline Allegiant added a new route between Illinois and Tennessee Thursday.
The new route is between MidAmerica St. Louis Airport in Belleville, Illinois, and McGhee Tyson Airport in Knoxville, Tennessee, twice weekly.
Allegiant is offering one-way fares for as low as $48 to introduce the route.
Allegiant’s chief revenue officer, Drew Wells, said travel demand was increasing.
“This route connects travelers to the people and places that matter most to them and we expect customers will enjoy our unique brand of travel: all nonstop flights without the hassle of layovers or connections,” Wells said in a news release.
The sale on fares is through Saturday for travel by Sept. 19, 2024.
Other destinations from the MidAmerica St. Louis Airport include Daytona Beach, Florida; Las Vegas, Nevada; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Sanford/Orlando, Florida; Savannah, Georgia; and Tampa Bay, Florida.
Allegiant allows passengers to bring one small personal item, like a purse, for free. Carry-on bags cost $10 to $75. Checked bag costs depend on the flight.
