BOLLINGER COUNTY, Mo. — People in Bollinger County are cleaning up after heavy rain caused flash flooding early Monday morning.
Reports of up to 8 inches of rain in a matter of hours resulted in flooding in Glen Allen, Marble Hill and other parts of the county. Bollinger County is located about 100 miles south of St. Louis.
Marble Hill Mayor Trey Wiginton told CNN affiliate KFVS that it was the second round of flooding in a matter of days.
"We had a very severe rain event which compounded on top of the two floods we had last week, we had another flash flood again today, that was higher than the last two affected," he said.
According to the Bollinger County Sheriff's Office, there were no fatalities or people reported missing in connection with the flooding.
Amanda Tylor said she and her boyfriend woke up to rising water outside their home.
"My boyfriend woke me up about 5:30 this morning and he was getting ready for work and he said that the water was about to take our house away," she told KFVS. "So we got up and checked out the situation. It was about waist-deep in our front yard. So once it got in our house, we just packed our backpacks and just waded our way out and came into town to get to higher ground."
In April, five people were killed and at least five more injured when a tornado struck Bollinger County at about 3:30 a.m.
