ST. LOUIS — Our Weather First doppler radar is watching the sky as rain builds in from the southwest through tonight.
Thursday, our last day in November, an area of low pressure is moving out of Texas and heads this way with rain becoming widespread. The heaviest, steadiest rain is expected tonight into early Friday morning before sunrise. Many locations could receive around an inch of rainfall.
Some spots may see locally higher amounts. Amounts as high as one to one-and-a-half inches are forecast for some along and north of I-70 in Missouri and Illinois. Roads will be wet and could be slick, also visibility will be reduced. Also ponding on roads and highways is likely, so slower speeds are recommended.
By the middle of the night, we will have a breeze southeast wind with gusts to 25 miles per hour. Rain will be widespread with the heaviest falling overnight and before sunrise on Friday.
It will be a mild night with lows in the 40s as the southeast breeze continues with the widespread rain.
Tomorrow, spotty showers are possible, and it will still be breezy with above-average high temperatures in the mid-50s.
High temperatures will be in the 50s through the weekend. There are a couple of disturbances expected to move over us from Saturday through Monday. These weak systems don't have much moisture to work with so only a passing shower is expected, mainly overnight. The daytime hours are expected to be mostly cloudy with temperatures near seasonal averages for this time of year.
