Severe weather threat over for St. Louis region

The Tornado Watch has expired, and the storms have cleared the area from overnight.

ST. LOUIS — 12:00 AM Update: Our tornado watch has ended. The severe threat is winding down overnight. Storms will be possible as this front moves through, but they should remain below severe limits.

This line of storms have continued to hold its strength, and is posing all types of threats. This line will be responsible for our chances throughout the night.

The first storms will arrive after 8 p.m. in the metro Tuesday evening and move into the St. Louis metro area around 9 p.m. - 11 p.m. before pushing south and east. The storm threat will continue into early Wednesday morning around 2 a.m. - 3 a.m. and then clearing the area.

Severe thunderstorm potential this evening

Since the severe weather threat is after dark, make sure your cell phones are charged before heading to bed. Also, make sure your notifications are turned on and in the event of any weather warnings, you'll receive a tone/alert to wake you up out of your sleep. If tornado warnings are issued, remember to get to your safe place, fast!
