ST. LOUIS — We had 6 consecutive days of 90+ weather since last Wednesday and yesterday we had a break from the extreme heat with St. Louis Lambert reporting a high temperature of 88. Father's Day has been the hottest day of the year with 97 the high temperature.

Wednesday we go right back into the 90s by the afternoon with heat index values up near 95-99.  The heat builds to end the week as highs climb up near 100 by Friday afternoon and perhaps a touch hotter on Saturday. The humidity will also stay high making our "feels like" temperature reach 101-106 during those days. On average, the first 100 degree day in St. Louis is July 19 and the earliest is June 1.

By Sunday, a cold front will move into the area and bring a chance for showers and thunderstorms. While Sunday will still be hot and humid, it's Monday when the humidity levels will fall, but for one day only. Next week, temperatures stay hot with 100 expected again by Tuesday.
