ST. LOUIS — Stormy weather and threats for heavy rain return this week in St. Louis.
Monday is fairly quiet, with cloudier skies and warm temperatures for the bi-state. Aside from a stray shower or a very isolated thunderstorm, Monday is dry under mostly cloudy skies. Afternoon temperatures will rise to the warm 70s to nearly 80°.
Thunderstorms move in Tuesday through Thursday for our region.
In the St. Louis area, totals range from 1.1 inches to 1.6 inches of rain. Areas west and north are expected to get even, with Columbia anticipating 2.39 inches of rain.
Expect thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and evening. Scattered storms are possible throughout Wednesday. A few thunderstorms may turn severe, with hail and wind threats in the region. Widespread thunderstorms are also forecast on Thursday, some of which may become severe.
High temperatures will rise into the middle and upper 70s Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Rain clears for Friday with cooler temperatures in the 60s. The weekend looks relatively dry and cool for early May, with daily temperatures in the 60s to near 70°.
