ST. LOUIS — The humidity is back in St. Louis Sunday!
Highs around the area are in the 90s, with mostly clear skies, but that dry weather won't last long.
It will be a tale of two weather patterns in the St. Louis area this week, with rain from Tropical Storm Barry early in the week giving way to sweltering heat that lasts into next week.
The remnants of Barry will be impacting our forecast through Tuesday as rain chances ramp up.

Flood watches are up for southeastern Missouri and far southern Illinois where the heaviest rain is likely to fall. We will see some of the showers and maybe some thunder slide in Monday and linger into Tuesday before the whole system slides away.
Attention then turns to a period of intense heat as highs will head toward the upper 90s with heat indices above 100 for several days in a row.
The heat may break some time early next week, but Thursday through Sunday or Monday looks awfully hot and dry.
Even into next week, while the heat may break down, the rain chances look unimpressive unless a front can move into the area.
