St. Charles County residents, here's how to report damage from Thursday's storms

Large hail caused major damage to homes and cars Thursday in St. Charles County.

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. — Rounds of severe morning and evening storms Thursday brought strong winds and golf ball-sized hail to St. Charles County. Homes and cars were left with significant damage.

St. Charles County Regional Emergency Management is asking all residents who suffered damages from Thursday's storms to submit a preliminary damage assessment form. The reports will then be sent to the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency

SEMA collects information on the impact of disasters from local communities for the governor, according to the agency's website. If damage assessments meet FEMA's damage and emergency cost threshold, the governor could request the president issue an emergency or major disaster declaration for FEMA assistance.
