ST. LOUIS — We have had our fair share of stormy weather through the month of May, and June is starting off no different. While our pattern remains active, the strength of the storms looks to remain mainly below the severe criteria on Tuesday and early Wednesday morning.
MORE SEVERE WEATHER COVERAGE: St. Louis has had the fourth-most annual tornado touchdowns ever in 2024. That ranking could get even higher
Storms that form on Tuesday will be brief but could certainly put your outdoor plans on pause. A brief period of downpours can be expected at any given time during the day on Tuesday with a better chance of widespread rain and thunder early Wednesday morning.
While the Weather First Team is not expecting numerous severe storms, there could be one or two late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning that become strong with gusty winds and small hail the main risk. Overall, the risk of severe weather is low, but those storms could make for a rude awakening on Wednesday morning with the best chance of rain before sunrise.
After the storms move away Wednesday morning, less humid air will begin to slide into the Bi-state region. Our humidity levels will go into the comfortable range Thursday and Friday making it feel very nice outside.
A few more thunderstorms are possible heading into the weekend as temperatures remain seasonal.
