ST. LOUIS — Between 1-3 inches of rain fell Thursday and Friday in the metro with higher amounts south. Heavy rain and thunderstorms have saturated the area and caused rivers and streams to rise.
The FLOOD WATCH was cancelled early for all counties. Rain is tapering off, but scattered showers and some downpours will continue tonight.
Friday evening thunderstorms prompted a FLASH FLOOD WARNING that was issued at 5:50 PM for Perry Co. Missouri and this warning for flooding continues until midnight. 3-5" of rain fell there over the last two days.
Flash flooding of low water crossings, small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
Minor to moderate flooding continues on many area rivers.
Phelps, Iron, Madison, Reynolds, St. Francois and St. Genevieve counties in Missouri are all under flood warnings until Saturday morning with numerous road closures reported.

The back edge of the rain should finally move through most of the area after 2 AM.
Additional rainfall up half-inch to an inch is possible before the rain ends overnight.
