ST. LOUIS — The severe weather risk has ended Wednesday afternoon as a strong line of storms moves out of the bi-state.
The leading northern edge of the storm prompted severe weather warnings for several counties in the St. Louis area. The system produced quick-hitting, strong storms which sparked a few tornado warnings early Wednesday afternoon. There were no confirmed tornado touchdowns reported.
There have been scattered power outages. The largest number of outages has been reported in Fayette County, Illinois, where more than 5,000 customers were without power after strong winds blew through the area
Gusty winds will continue into Thursday with mild conditions through the Thursday morning rush hour. Temperatures will begin to fall during the day Thursday, dropping into the 40s by the evening rush hour.
Much cooler air settles in for us Thursday evening and during the day Friday.
